CSAA Insurance Group Achieves 98 Percent Employee Volunteer Participation for Second Straight Year

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., March 7, 2017 – CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, achieved a 98 percent employee volunteer participation rate in 2016. This is the second consecutive year that CSAA Insurance Group has achieved the highest volunteer participation rate in the U.S. by a company with more than 3,000 employees.

“Our deep-rooted tradition of serving the evolving needs of AAA Members extends to the community, and our employees are to be commended on this fantastic milestone,” said Danielle Cagan, vice president of corporate communications and public affairs at CSAA Insurance Group. “Our focus on community service is one of the reasons that employees say CSAA Insurance Group is a great place to work.”

In 2013, the company made a concerted effort to boost employee volunteerism rates up to 85 percent. By 2015, however, CSAA Insurance Group achieved a whopping 98 percent employee volunteer participation rate, repeating this achievement again in 2016 with employees volunteering at 486 company-sponsored events across the country, logging nearly 50,000 hours to benefit nonprofit organizations of all kinds.

“Beyond helping to address critical challenges facing local communities, corporate volunteerism increases employee engagement, encourages teamwork, and strengthens customer service and other skills,” Cagan said.

In 2016, CSAA Insurance Group was also named one of the 50 most community-minded companies in America, receiving the Civic 50 Award from Points of Light for the second year in a row. The company places an emphasis on offering team volunteer events during regular work hours, and offers employees 24 hours of paid time off to volunteer each year. Employees are also encouraged to give back through other giving programs such as matching gifts, Dollars for Board Service, and Dollars for Doers.
