CSAA Insurance Group Honored to Receive Civic 50 Award for the Fifth Year in a Row

 

 

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., June 19, 2018 – CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, has been named one of the 50 most community-minded companies in the United States by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. Civic 50 provides a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies can use their time, skills and other resources to improve the communities in which they do business.

“This award affirms our strong commitment to AAA Members and the communities we serve,” said Marie Andel, chief people and culture officer at CSAA Insurance Group. “We are honored to stand with others in the business community who share our passion for community service.”

Last year, 99 percent of CSAA Insurance Group employees volunteered in their communities – the highest volunteer rate in the country for companies with more than 3,000 employees. Employees receive 24 hours of paid company time off to volunteer each year at national parks, local food banks, and more. Employees are also eligible for a matching gift program, a “dollars for doers” program and donations to nonprofit organizations in recognition of employee board service.

The Civic 50 survey was administered by True Impact, a company specializing in helping organizations maximize and measure their social and business value. The survey instrument consists of quantitative and multiple-choice questions that inform The Civic 50 scoring process. The Civic 50 is the only survey and ranking system that exclusively measures corporate involvement in communities.

CSAA Insurance Group was recognized with other Civic 50 award winners on June 19 at Service Unites 2018, Points of Light’s annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Corporate and nonprofit leaders gathered together to discuss social innovation, civic engagement and cross-sector collaboration.
