WALNUT CREEK, Calif., July 11, 2018 – Two CSAA Insurance Group executives were named among the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business. For 2018, sponsoring organization the San Francisco Business Times honored Debbie Brackeen, executive vice president and chief strategy and innovation officer, and Phyllis Solomon, associate legal counsel and vice president of corporate legal affairs.
The Most Influential Women Award recognizes Bay Area women who have made a difference as outstanding leaders in their organizations and communities, representing public and private companies, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations and government entities.
“Debbie and Phyllis are exceptional leaders both inside and outside the workplace,” said Paula Downey, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “This well-deserved recognition highlights how they continually search for ways to better serve AAA Members and our communities.”
Brackeen leads the company’s strategic planning and innovation acceleration, which is focused on sustaining and disruptive-innovation capabilities, as well as on investment and business-development opportunities. She has more than 25 years of experience and leadership at innovative high-tech companies. She is also a director and past chair of the Silicon Valley Forum board, has been an adviser to the Astia Technology Committee since 2008, and was an adviser on the corporate board of the National Venture Capital Association.
Solomon oversees strategic transactions, corporate governance, contracts, privacy and intellectual property functions, and also leads a cross-functional legal team focused on supporting CSAA Insurance Group’s innovation initiatives. In 2016, she established CSAA Insurance Group’s pro bono legal services program, which provides seniors with free legal assistance in completing advance health care directives, and has already delivered several hundred hours of free legal services.
Honorees from CSAA Insurance Group and other Bay Area companies were recognized at an awards dinner at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.
