CSAA Insurance Group Donates 100,000 Meals

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., April 30, 2014 –
CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, will commemorate its centennial year by donating 100,000 meals to help alleviate hunger around the world.

Partnering with international hunger relief organization Stop Hunger Now, company volunteers at six work sites across the country will prepare food packets for 100,000 meals. Each packet includes six servings containing dehydrated vegetables, soy, rice and 21 essential vitamins and minerals. Each serving costs 29 cents. The volunteer effort begins in April and will continue till the end of the year.

Once assembled, Stop Hunger Now will ship the packets internationally to school feeding programs, medical clinics and other facilities where people are hungry. It may also use them to provide relief to victims of famine, natural disasters and war.

“CSAA Insurance Group is proud to be celebrating its centennial this year and we are delighted to expand our partnership with Stop Hunger Now in recognition of this momentous occasion,” said Roger Hancock, Corporate Responsibility and Public Affairs manager. “Bringing volunteer opportunities to employees where they work is a wonderful way to get people involved and Stop Hunger Now makes it easy for our employee volunteers to make a difference.”
