AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange Gets Leadership Development Honor

Named Top 100 Company By Leadership Excellence

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., November 4th, 2011* - AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange is one of the top companies in the U.S. for developing business leaders, according to the latest rankings from Leadership Excellence magazine.

For the past 27 years, Leadership Excellence has been the only magazine dedicated to leadership development. It annually ranks the best leadership development programs in different categories based on objective criteria. AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange ranked #63 among larger organizations of 1,000 or more employees. This was the first year AAA Insurance submitted its leadership development program for consideration in the rankings.

The magazine ranks companies based on seven criteria. These include: 1) having a meaningful vision/mission linked to strategy; 2) broad and deep involvement and participation; 3) effective program design/model, credible content, and customized and relevant curriculum; 4) qualified presenters, presentations, and delivery; 5) personal accountability for performance and results; 6) high take-home value for participants; and 7) impressive program impact and outreach.

The insurance provider was recognized for its "AAA Insurance Leadership Institute." The institute includes an integrated set of face to face and online workshops, personal assessments and exercises, projects and assignments tied to "real-life" company issues, and individual and group coaching. As part of the coaching process, cross-functional groups of 20 to 25 high-potential leaders engage in a series of activities over an eight-month period. They learn a common leadership language and are given the tools to build on the foundation of a broad-based company leadership culture. The goals of the AAA Insurance Leadership Institute are to increase employees’ understanding and commitment to the company’s strategy, increase the effectiveness of company leaders, and enable the growth of great leaders throughout the company.
