WALNUT CREEK, Calif., May 5, 2017 – Marie Andel, chief people and culture officer for CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has joined the Sonoma Land Trust board of directors.
Founded in 1976, Sonoma Land Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting nearly 50,000 acres of environmentally significant land in and around Sonoma County. Sonoma Land Trust works closely with private landowners, nonprofit partners, foundations, the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, and other public agencies.
“We welcome Marie’s board participation, and are grateful that she is inspired by our mission to develop long-term land protection strategies in Sonoma County,” said Dave Koehler, executive director of Sonoma Land Trust. “Marie’s business experience and community leadership will help guide the efforts to conserve Sonoma’s unique, pristine open lands.”
Ms. Andel leads the company's efforts in corporate culture, communications, social responsibility, human resources, diversity and sustainability. She is a champion of the company's volunteer program, and has been honored as “Forever Influential” on the list of the San Francisco Bay Area's Most Influential Women in Business.
“From the mountains to the coastline, Sonoma County’s natural beauty is breathtaking,” said Andel. “I have been fortunate to call Sonoma home, and anything I can do to help protect and preserve its amazing beauty for future generations is truly a joy.”
In addition to serving AAA customers, CSAA Insurance Group has a long history of supporting nonprofits with volunteer and financial support, and encourages employees to get involved in the communities they serve.
