WALNUT CREEK, Calif., September 5, 2014 –
CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has been named one of the Bay Area’s Healthiest Employers for the third straight year. The award, given by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal, recognizes companies and organizations that are leaders in creating innovative health and wellness programs for their employees.
The two publications work in collaboration with research company Healthiest Employers to choose winners based on key workplace wellness criteria, including culture and leadership commitment, programming and interventions, and communication and marketing.
“It is an honor to be selected as one of the Bay Area’s Healthiest Employers,” said CSAA Insurance Group Chief Administrative Officer Marie Andel. "Although we are thrilled to be recognized for our programs, we are most proud that our culture of wellness is making an impact on our employees’ lives. We are truly inspired by their stories.”
CSAA IG offers onsite fitness classes at five of its locations. The company designed many of its buildings with easy-to-access staircases to encourage walking and provides healthy food choices in its headquarters’ cafeteria. After implementing a points-based system for rewarding healthy behaviors, the company saw participation in its corporate wellness program increase to 82 percent of all employees.
CSAA IG was recognized along with other winners at a breakfast event today at the Marriott San Mateo-San Francisco Airport Hotel.
