CSAA Insurance Group Participating in 2015 Great ShakeOut to Raise Awareness for Earthquake Preparedness


WALNUT CREEK, Calif., October 15, 2015 – CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, will participate in the Great California ShakeOut, the world’s largest earthquake drill, today at 10:15 a.m. to promote awareness for disaster preparedness.

More than 25 million people worldwide are expected to take part in the Great ShakeOut, which is held every year on the third Thursday of October. Coordinated by the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC), the goal of the drill is to encourage communities, schools and organizations to learn what to do before, during and after an earthquake. At 10:15 a.m., participants should Drop, Cover, and Hold On as if there was a major earthquake occurring, and stay in this position for at least 60 seconds.

CSAA Insurance Group will also use the Great ShakeOut to conduct an earthquake recovery drill to run through its crisis response and business continuity plans. In addition, the company will hold a preparedness fair at its Fairfield location for its employees and business partners to learn more about disaster recovery.
