WALNUT CREEK, Calif., December 1, 2014 – CSAA Insurance Group hosted a diversity and inclusion summit with leaders from across the country, including three Bay Area companies. The summit is part of a continuing effort to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
"Creating a culture where everybody can thrive is critical to our company’s success,” said Karina DeLaCruz, the company's diversity and inclusion leader. “The perspectives gained from a diverse workforce helps drive innovation, expand creativity, secure and retain top talent, and respond more effectively to a rapidly-changing marketplace.”
More than 100 people attended the event, including everyone from executive level team members and vice presidents to representatives of the company’s Regional Diversity Councils and other key stakeholders.
During the two-day summit, participants gained insight from CSAA Insurance Group executives, as well as diversity and inclusion leaders from Clorox, Genentech, and PG&E. Kelly Crowley, a two-time Paralympic medalist in swimming and cycling, addressed the crowd on the importance of ability and the connection between adversity and success.
The next Diversity & Inclusion Summit is planned for 2016.
