WALNUT CREEK, Calif., October 26, 2015 – Mike Zukerman, chief legal officer for CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has joined the board of directors of the League to Save Lake Tahoe.
Founded in 1957, the League – well-known for the slogan “Keep Tahoe Blue” – is focused on monitoring development and recreation plans, and working with local, state and federal lawmakers to take action to protect the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe. The League conducts extensive outreach and education on the environmental challenges facing Lake Tahoe, and hosts numerous volunteer days and social events throughout the year, aiming to inspire an ethic of environmental stewardship among all who love Tahoe.
“We appreciate Mike’s support of our mission to Keep Tahoe Blue and are delighted to have him join our board,” said Darcie Goodman Collins, PhD, executive director of the League to Save Lake Tahoe. “Mike’s legal and business expertise and his passion for preserving the splendor of Lake Tahoe will prove invaluable to our education and conservation efforts.”
CSAA Insurance Group has a long history of partnering with California nonprofits to provide financial and volunteer support, and encourages employees to get involved in their communities. Last year, in addition to financial contributions, CSAA Insurance Group employees logged nearly 35,000 hours of volunteer service for local charities, earning the Communitas and Bay Area Corporate Community Involvement awards, as well as recognition as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in America by Points of Light.

Zukerman joined CSAA Insurance Group in 2011 after a 25-year career as a legal and business development executive with Bay Area technology companies. He provides legal, regulatory and compliance oversight and guidance, and serves as legal advisor to the board of directors, the CEO and other senior executives.
