CSAA Insurance Group Names New Chief Information Security Officer, Marlys Rodgers

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., May 28, 2019 – CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has named Marlys Rodgers as its new chief information security officer (CISO). Rodgers, who will report to Chief Information Officer Paul Acevedo, will be responsible for designing and executing the company's IT security strategy to keep internal and customer data secure.

As CSAA Insurance Group's enterprise security leader, Rodgers will drive security strategy as well as day-to-day security operations. She and her team will be charged with maintaining and monitoring security; mitigating risks through policies, education, communication, audits and compliance standards; and guiding the IT governance and controls functions. She'll be based in the company's Glendale, Ariz., office.

Rodgers joins CSAA Insurance Group from PayPal, where she held the dual roles of head of Technology Oversight and Risk and Compliance Officer since 2017. She was responsible for establishing PayPal's enterprise technology framework, policy, controls, monitoring and risk assessment for 16+ business units. Prior to her PayPal experience, Rodgers held a variety of roles in technology and risk with escalating responsibilities at American Express, spanning 17 years. In her last role there as vice president of Operational Risk, Global Risk and Compliance, she owned and executed the company risk framework and policies. She was also vice chair for the New Product Approval Committee and secretary for the Enterprise Operational Risk Management Committee. She received numerous technology excellence awards during her tenure at American Express, and she's currently a member of the board of directors and secretary for the Alliance of Women and Technology, Southwest. 

Rodgers has a Master of Business Administration degree in Technology Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Management/Marketing from the University of Phoenix.
