WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Oct. 10, 2024 – Katie Evans, executive vice president and chief legal officer of CSAA Insurance Group, was named among the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times. The award recognizes Bay Area women who have made a difference as outstanding leaders in their organizations and communities, representing public and private companies, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and government entities.

As Chief Legal Officer, Evans provides legal, regulatory and compliance oversight and guidance for the company and serves as legal advisor to the board of directors, the CEO and other senior executives. Evans’ experience, insight, and vision have established a track record of leadership, and proven invaluable in navigating the complexities of the insurance industry. She previously served as the company’s vice president of regulatory and government affairs, playing a key role in the company’s efforts to innovate and operationalize new business ideas.
Evans is a currently on the board of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds (NCIGF), a non-profit, member-funded association that provides national assistance and support to the property and casualty guaranty funds located in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. She has also served on CSAA’s pro bono committee supporting free legal programs offered to local communities through Contra Costa Senior Legal Services (CCSLS), the long-established non-profit organization serving seniors in Contra Costa County.

Prior to joining CSAA Insurance Group, Evans was an insurance regulatory partner with Dentons, one of the largest law firms in the world, and co-authored “Dentons’ Guide to Insurance Market Regulation.” In 2013, she was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Law360, one of five insurance attorneys nationwide to be recognized. Evans graduated with honors from University of California, Santa Cruz and received her law degree, cum laude, from University of California, Hastings (UC Law) where she was managing editor of the Hastings Law Review.
The event honoring the 2024 Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business was held at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco.
