CSAA Insurance Group Named Among Top 10 on Seramount’s 2024 List of Top 80 Companies for Executive Women

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Sept. 10, 2024 – CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, today was named among the Top 10 on Seramount’s list of 2024 Top 80 Companies for Executive Women. Seramount continues to explore ways organizations can move more women into top executive roles by highlighting the successes at trailblazing companies.

According to Seramount, the Top 80 Companies for Executive Women is the most definitive list of top workplaces for women advancing through the corporate ranks. It celebrates companies that champion women’s achievements, with a focus on succession planning, profit-and-loss roles, gender-pay parity, support, and flexibility programs.

Highlights of the 2024 Top 80 Companies for Executive Women

• Women representation at the Top Companies has increased at the higher employee levels: 37% of corporate executives (the top two levels below CEO) are women, up from 35% the previous year; 47% of senior managers (one level below corporate executives) are women, up from 45%; and 51% of managers (one level below senior managers) are women, up from 50%.

• Additionally, promotions to these employee levels have also increased: 44% of promotions to corporate executive are women, up from 42% the previous year; 51% of promotions to senior manager are women, up from 47%; and 55% of promotions to manager are women, up from 54%.

• Forty-four percent of corporate executives who report directly to the CEO are women, up from 39% the previous year; 31% of executives who have P&L responsibility are women, up from 29%; and 37% of executives who report directly to the CEO and have P&L responsibility are women, up from 33%.

• Women representation in formal advancement programs has also increased, with 62% of mentees in formal mentoring programs being women, up from 60% the previous year; 65% of protégés in sponsorship programs are women, up from 57%; 58% of leadership development participants are women, up from 57%; and 46% of succession planning candidates are women, up from 45%.

Top 80 Companies for Executive Women Workforce Composition

The 2024 Top 80 Companies for Executive Women employ about 2.3 million people at 29,206 work sites in every state across 17 industries: consumer products, education, financial or property and casualty insurance, financial services, health insurance, hospitals/health care, legal, manufacturing, media, internet, advertising, nonprofit/not-for-profit, pharmaceuticals, professional services/management consulting/accounting, real estate, retail and apparel science/technology/engineering/ aerospace/medical devices, telecommunications, and utilities.

Methodology

The 2024 Top 80 Companies for Executive Women application includes 211 questions on pertinent topics, including women representation at all levels, but focuses on the corporate officer and profit-and-loss leadership ranks. The application, based on 2023 data, tracks and examines how many employees have access to programs and policies that promote advancement of women and how many women employees take advantage of them, as well as how companies train managers to help women advance. To be considered, companies must have a minimum of two women on their boards of directors and at least 500 US employees.
