WALNUT CREEK, Calif., August 18, 2016 – Ravi Poorsina, external affairs executive at CSAA Insurance Group, has joined the Board of Directors for Monument Crisis Center, which serves low-income individuals and families throughout Contra Costa County.
A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Monument Crisis Center offers a variety of services including food distribution, after school programs, resume and interview workshops, senior services, English Language Learning classes, and health and dental screenings. Trained staff members are also available to provide one-on-one client support and assistance referrals to other community resources.
“We are thrilled to have Ravi’s support as a member of our board,” said Sandra Scherer, executive director of Monument Crisis Center. “Her wealth of knowledge and expertise will help guide our strategic vision and efforts to be a valuable community resource.”
CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has a long legacy of partnering with nonprofit organizations, and has provided financial and volunteer support to Monument Crisis Center since 2008. Last year, 98 percent of CSAA Insurance Group employees volunteered – the highest volunteer participation rate in the country for any company with more than 3,000 employees – earning recognition as one of the 50 most community-minded companies in America by Points of Light.

Poorsina joined CSAA Insurance Group in 2015 and leads the company’s external communication functions, including public relations, policyholder communications, agency communications and social media.
