CSAA Insurance Group Partners with CCSLS to Provide Free Legal Services to Contra Costa Seniors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., November 8, 2016 – CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has partnered with Contra Costa Senior Legal Services (CCSLS), the long-established non-profit organization exclusively serving seniors in Contra Costa County, to provide free legal services for seniors in Contra Costa County. Located in the Pleasant Hill Senior Center, this free bi-monthly clinic now offers the county’s seniors assistance in completing important Advance Health Care Directives.

“We are honored to partner with CCSLS and the Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District to provide this free service to our Contra Costa seniors,” said Phyllis Solomon, associate general counsel at CSAA Insurance Group. “Last year, 98 percent of our employees volunteered to support our communities and make a positive difference for those in need. This clinic both expands our company-wide commitment to volunteering, and provides professionals in our legal division a meaningful opportunity to put our skills to good use in the community.”

With this distinctive three-way partnership with CSAA Insurance Group and the Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District, CCSLS expands its Pro Bono Partners program that launched earlier this year. This program is the first of its kind in the county, partnering with private corporations and public agencies to provide free legal clinics for seniors.

“We are thrilled that CSAA Insurance Group is leading the charge to help our community’s growing older population,” said CCSLS Executive Director, Verna Haas. “CCSLS is proud to have a pro bono partner like CSAA Insurance Group that is willing to give back to the community where it is headquartered in such a pioneering way. We simply could not offer this new program absent this critical partnership between CSAA Insurance Group and CCSLS.”

“Pleasant Hill is delighted that we can provide this new service to county seniors, and would like to thank CSAA Insurance Group and Contra Costa Senior Legal Services for their dedication in making this new program possible,” said Kendra Luke, supervisor of the Senior Center.

The free clinics are available for seniors ages 60+ who reside in Contra Costa County, and held at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center, located at 233 Gregory Lane in Pleasant Hill.  To make an appointment, please call the Pleasant Hill Senior Center at (925) 798-8788.
