CSAA Insurance Group Named a Top Company for Executive Women

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., March 5 , 2019 – CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insurer, has earned a spot on the 2019 NAFE Top 10 Nonprofit Companies for Executive Women list published by the National Association for Female Executives.

The list recognizes U.S. organizations with a strong focus on best practices that demonstrate effectiveness in moving women to senior ranks, including mentoring, sponsorship, involvement in employee-resource groups and leadership-development training. The list also highlights companies’ benefits, including flexibility, corporate culture, and CEO involvement in advancing women. The list of this year’s winners is featured in the April/May issue of Working Mother and at workingmother.com.

“We are honored to be recognized by NAFE as a great place for women to work and advance their careers,” said Marie Andel, chief people and culture officer at CSAA Insurance Group. “We place great importance on creating a culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging and can use their unique strengths to lead, innovate, problem-solve and thrive. Ultimately, our differences allow us to better serve AAA members and maintain a competitive advantage in today’s marketplace.”

Andel serves as the executive sponsor of CSAA Insurance Group’s 500-person strong Women’s Professional Network, which provides resources and opportunities to increase the number of women in leadership roles at the company. More than 60 percent of employees who graduated from the company’s award-winning leadership development programs in 2018 were women. Today, women comprise nearly 40 percent of executives and 25 percent of the CSAA Insurance Group Board of Directors.

NAFE President Betty Spence called this year’s top companies models for moving women into senior roles and paving the way for the advancement of women.

Other NAFE Top 10 Nonprofit Companies for 2019 include: Bon Secours Virginia Health System, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Dayton Children’s Hospital, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, WellStar Health System, and Yale New Haven Health System.
