WALNUT CREEK, Calif., May 29, 2015 –CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, announced that A.M. Best recently affirmed its A+ (Superior) financial strength rating. The company remains in the top 10 percent of all U.S. property and casualty insurance companies, and has maintained a rating of A or higher for more than 85 years.
A.M. Best announced that the A+ rating is based on CSAA Insurance Group’s strong risk-adjusted capitalization, historically favorable operating results and significant personal lines market presence in our selected operating territories, specifically in California where it ranks among the top carriers in market share for both private passenger auto and homeowner coverages.
“We are pleased that A.M. Best affirmed our A+ rating, demonstrating to our policyholders and valued partners that our financial strength and stability will serve them well when they need us,” said CSAA Insurance Group President and CEO Paula Downey. “We continue to be focused on providing AAA members with excellent auto and homeowners products coupled with outstanding customer service to best serve their needs.”
A.M. Best revised the company’s outlook from stable to negative citing increased underwriting losses since 2013. “We are confident in our strategy which will improve underwriting performance through underwriting actions and operational efficiencies,” Downey added.
The A+ rating applies to the entire CSAA insurance Group, including subsidiaries. For more information about A.M. Best’s financial strength ratings, visit www.ambest.com/ratings.
