AAA Northern California, Nevada and Utah Insurance Exchange Recognized for Commitment to Diversity

Diversity Inc Ranks Company in Top 10 Regional Companies

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., July 31, 2012 – AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange, a major provider of AAA-branded insurance, is being recognized by DiversityInc for a commitment to diversity in the workplace.

DiversityInc ranked AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange eighth in its top 10 list of regional companies across the United States. There were four criteria by which each company was judged. They are:

  • CEO commitment: The company CEO demonstrates a personal commitment to diversity.
  • Human Capital: Company workforces have a large percentage of ethnic and other diversity.
  • Corporate and Organizational Communications: Companies must have employee-resource groups available to everyone in the organization.
  • Supplier Diversity: The company is committed to and working with minority and/or women-owned suppliers.

“AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange has shown a thorough commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said Luke Visconti, founder and CEO of DiversityInc. “Our comprehensive survey has shown that the organization has strong employee-resource groups used for talent development, mentoring and community outreach. The mandatory diversity training that is in place for the entire workforce also illustrates an important element of its dedication to diversity.”

DiversityInc did its evaluations by having companies complete surveys that assessed the four areas of measurement that are mentioned above. Companies must score above average in all four areas to earn a spot on the list. They must also demonstrate strong consistency across the board in their diversity-management initiatives. Companies are measured within their industry classifications and each company had to have at least 1,000 employees. There was no fee to enter and every company that filled out the survey on time received a free report card assessing its performance.

The AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah Insurance Exchange offers automobile, homeowners and other personal lines of insurance to AAA members through partnerships with AAA clubs. It is one of the largest personal lines insurance companies in the United States and is rated A+ by A.M. Best.
