CSAA Specialized Services Springs from AAA Insurer’s Focus on Community and Customer Service

New business unit evolves from pandemic response,

offering customized services for public, private and non-profit organizations

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., June 21, 2022 – CSAA Insurance Group has launched CSAA Specialized Services, which offers claims handling, training, and call center support. What started as an idea from an employee innovation challenge evolved into a new business that’s firmly rooted in the AAA insurer’s legacy of community service and deep expertise in customer support.

 

When faced with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, CSAA Insurance Group began working with numerous local and state governments to help them respond to the pandemic.

 

“Our initial goals were simply to help our communities while also ensuring jobs for our Claims employees in the wake of sudden changes in driving patterns and reduced claims due to the pandemic,” said Joey Daryanani, vice president of Specialized Services at CSAA Insurance Group. “We challenged our employees to help us imagine an innovative approach that would address both issues – and Specialized Services was born.”

 

CSAA Specialized Services launched call centers for contract tracing, processing unemployment claims, surveying schools to understand personal protective equipment (PPE) needs, and to operate a state vaccine hotline. The unit later expanded to include third-party administrator claims and training programs.

 

“With the growth of CSAA Specialized Services, we felt the time was right to formalize the work into a dedicated business unit,” said Daryanani. “We’re seeing increased interest in business-to-business third-party administration services, so we’re expanding our ability to serve organizations in ways that leverage our core areas of expertise and our commitment to the communities we serve.”

 

CSAA Specialized Services offers a range of customized solutions, including:

 

  • Claims handling – End-to-end claims management, as well as specialty services such as subrogation, total loss and salvage recovery, and Medicare compliance
  • Training services – Curriculums customized to meet an organization’s learning objectives, designed to respond to a changing workforce, workplace, and business environment
  • Call center support – Full contact center capabilities, with a trained staff handling millions of transactions annually, including community-related services (contact tracing, COVID-19 vaccine scheduling, and unemployment insurance claims filing)

 

Daryanani has held numerous Claims leadership positions across his 37 years with CSAA Insurance Group. Most recently, in addition to leading Specialized Services, he led the Claims Central Services organization, including subrogation, salvage, total loss, Medicare and claims training.
