WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Oct. 13, 2022 – Laurna Castillo, senior vice president of state product management for CSAA Insurance Group, was named among the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times. The award recognizes Bay Area women who have made a difference as outstanding leaders in their organizations and communities, representing public and private companies, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and government entities.
“We are pleased that Laurna is being recognized for her impressive professional and personal accomplishments, along with this year’s other distinguished honorees,” said Ryan Vigus, executive vice president of personal lines product. “She is an inspirational and accomplished leader, and essential to our ability to continue delivering business outcomes that put our customers first.”
After joining CSAA in 2009, Castillo rose to her senior leadership position in the product management division, where she currently oversees all insurance products for 23 states and the District of Columbia. She contributes to Enterprise Risk Management, informed the company’s COVID-19 Task Force, and led the Wildfire Risk Management project, which prioritized serving the needs of AAA customers. She is also an advocate for the success and advancement of women in the workplace through the Women’s Professional Network, an employee resource group.
Castillo is a UC Berkeley graduate with a degree in Applied Mathematics, an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and a member of National Underwriter Property Casualty’s Editorial Advisory Board. Her community commitments include serving as a STEM mentor with Junior Achievement of Northern California, and Volunteer Treasurer with Troop 33831, Casa Blanca District, for Girl Scouts of Northern California.
